Driving through Mountains? Here are Few Things to Remember

by Ashley Rhodes 12. December 2019 16:19

Mountain regions are beautiful to drive through at any time of the year, but they can also be hazardous. Severe conditions like fog, snow, ice, high winds, and mudslides can occur without warning. But by being aware and prepared, you can stay safe.

When driving on steep grades, make sure to use lower gears, jake brakes, and foot brakes to control your speed. If you do lose control of your speed, don’t be afraid to use an emergency run-off.

As always, if road conditions are hazardous and you cannot safely drive, park your truck and send a satcom message to your Fleet Support Manager/Account Supervisor as soon as possible.
