Professional Driver Development: Spotted Lanternfly

by Miranda Brooks 5. May 2022 13:11

Spotted Lanternflies may look harmless, but they’re actually pests harming our agricultural system, particularly in the Northeast. To help stop them from spreading, you are now required to have a permit and be familiar with related procedures — all of which you will find in your Professional Driver Development training.

You can easily access the Spotted Lanternfly video and permit, as well as the rest of your spring training, by visiting USXpressway.com, where you’ll find a direct link titled “Professional Driver Development Site.” Remember, you must complete all your training by May 22.

New to the Professional Driver Development Site? For a video on how to access your training, visit vimeo.com/333594296.

If you have any questions about your training assignments or the Professional Driver Development Site, please reach out to your manager or the Professional Development team at professionaldevelopment@usxpress.com.

HOS tip of the week

by Miranda Brooks 27. April 2022 17:09

Folks who don’t have any experience behind the wheel have no idea what it takes to do your job. They probably don’t know you’ve got to skillfully manage your Hours of Service (HOS) — no small feat, to say the least.

As a reminder, always be sure to log on before moving the CMV. It’s an easy thing to miss and can throw a wrench in your HOS management if it slips by you.

Stay safe out there!

Scan in Your Paperwork from the Safety of Your Cab

by Miranda Brooks 25. April 2022 17:08

Have you tried the scanning feature in your Xpress Mobile App? If not, this is a great time to start using it. Why?

It’s Convenient.

You can scan and view your paperwork from anywhere.

It’s Instant.

The app allows you to skip the lines for scanners so you can get back on the road sooner.

It’s Easy.

If you already have the Xpress Mobile App, everything you need is already on your phone.

It helps keep you safe.

Since most drivers on the road have to scan in paperwork, scanners are often some of the more frequently touched items in our facilities and at truck stops. When you use your app, you don’t even have to leave your cab. Just remember to disinfect your phone on a regular basis.

Don’t have the Xpress Mobile App? Go to www.USXpressway.com click on "Xpress Mobile App" to download it today.

Feel free to reach out to your manager if you have any questions.

We appreciate all you do!

Get a free truck wash at Blue Beacon every 28 days

by Miranda Brooks 24. April 2022 17:06

U.S. Xpress company drivers can wash their trucks and trailers for free every 28 days/4 weeks at any U.S. Xpress shop or Blue Beacon location. For Blue Beacon washes, all you need to do is pull up to a location, provide your truck number, show your CDL, and sign a wash ticket. We highly encourage you to wash the trailer while you're at it – don't worry, that's free too.

If you have any questions about your free truck wash, contact the XRA/Breakdown Department at 844-879-7737 option 4, then option 2.

Want to earn some extra cash?

by Miranda Brooks 22. April 2022 16:38

Let’s be honest, who would be a better recruiter for professional drivers than another professional experienced driver?

We know our professional drivers know their job better than anyone, which is why we’re happy to reward drivers for referring new drivers. We’ll pay $4,000 for experienced team referrals and $2,000 for solo driver referrals. How cool is that? Up to $4,000 for a simple conversation—that’s tough to beat.

If your referral is hired, you’ll receive your referral bonus when they deliver their first load. And then you can get out there and refer another team or solo driver. Rinse and repeat.

All you have to do is text “refer” to (423) 436-9588 and our virtual assistant will guide you through the rest!
