Diversity and Inclusion: Changing the Face of Trucking

by Miranda Brooks 10. June 2021 15:43

The face of trucking is changing. People of different races, sexualities, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds are joining the industry, bringing new perspectives to the table, and driving success for their organizations. In fact:

  •  Companies devoted to diversity are 43% more likely to see above-average profits.
  •   64% of carriers report that they are at least 51% owned by a member of a diverse group.
  •  The number of drivers who identify as part of a minority group increased nearly 15% between 2013 and 2018 and continues to grow
  •    Companies in the top 25th percentile for gender diversity on their executive teams are about 25% more likely to experience above-average profits.

So, we will continue striving for and celebrating diversity and inclusion at U.S. Xpress as we grow and change as a company and as individuals.

Help Us Help You! Rate our 40,000 Parking Locations.

by Miranda Brooks 7. June 2021 10:20

You can now easily locate a safe parking location on your route right from your DriverTech navigation. Simply press the blue road sign button on your DriverTech navigation screen, select “Parking”, and your DriverTech unit will then begin searching for options based on your current route. When the search is complete, up to four optimal parking options will display on your screen, and you can select the one that best suits your needs.

Our goal is to ultimately provide you with the best possible suggestions for parking locations on your route, so we need your feedback! When you visit one of these 40,000 parking locations, please take a few minutes to rate your experience based on the following categories:

  • Safety
  • Cleanliness
  • Lighting
  • Ease of Accessibility
  • Lot Fullness

Coming soon, your ratings will be used to create average driver ratings for each location so that you will be able to view how your fellow drivers have rated a suggested parking location before you select it. Your ratings on these locations will help us provide you with the best future suggestions, fueled by your collective feedback.

If you have any questions about locating or rating parking in your DriverTech navigation, reach out to your manager. Thanks for driving with us!

D-Day: Commemorating History and Celebrating our Veterans

by Miranda Brooks 6. June 2021 08:46

On June 6th, 1944, now known as D-Day, over 150,000 American, Canadian, and British troops landed in Normandy to help stop the spread of Nazi Germany. The invasion played a huge role in World War II, marking the turn of the tide for the control maintained by Nazi Germany. It was not only a significant psychological blow for Hitler, but it also prevented him from sending troops from France to build up his Eastern Front against the advancing Soviets. The following spring, on May 8th, 1945, the Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany.

Today we’re not just looking to the past, celebrating the troops’ success, and paying tribute to their sacrifices. We’re also recognizing the importance of today’s U.S. military and honoring everyone who has served. Their sacrifices have and will continue to change the course of history and keep our country safe and strong.

Thank you, veterans.

Driver Line Changes for Payroll Option

by Miranda Brooks 4. June 2021 10:11

Getting in touch with Payroll shouldn’t be difficult. After all, you earned that paycheck. If you have questions about your pay, we want you to get an answer as quickly as possible. So, we’ve updated our Driver Line menu options to reduce the number of transfers needed to access Payroll Self-Service or get in touch with the Payroll team.

As usual, when you call the Driver Line (1-844-879-7737) you’ll select option 5 to access the Payroll menu. From there, you’ll have the following options:

  • For payroll self-service, select 1.
  • To speak to someone about an owing agreement, select 2.
  • For garnishments, select 3.
  • All other pay, select 4.
  • To repeat the above options, select 9.

Thanks for all your hard work. We hope this change helps get you everything you need as quickly and easily as possible.
