by Miranda Brooks 4. September 2021 09:00

As you likely know, with the introduction of a 2018 tax law, you may no longer itemize work expenses for tax purposes. But there is good news: the IRS now allows you to keep $66 of your earnings per day tax-free as a professional truck driver.

U.S. Xpress Per Diem Advantage makes sure you get the full advantage of this  IRS benefit, allowing you to potentially take home up to 8% more per pay check.

How does it work? Check out our video for the details and an example of what you could be taking home on Per Diem Advantage.

Don't forget, since the 2018 tax law went into effect, U.S. Xpress Per Diem Advantage is now the only way you can get a tax-free IRS benefit.

You should keep in mind that everyone's tax situation is a little different, and you can visit www.usxjobs.com/per-diem-advantage-pay-calculator/ to get an estimate that closely matches your individual circumstances. by Miranda Brooks 3. September 2021 08:58

You can now easily locate a safe parking location on your route right from your DriverTech navigation. Simply press the blue road sign button on your DriverTech navigation screen, select “Parking”, and your DriverTech unit will then begin searching for options based on your current route. When the search is complete, up to four optimal parking options will display on your screen, and you can select the one that best suits your needs.

Our goal is to ultimately provide you with the best possible suggestions for parking locations on your route, so we need your feedback! When you visit one of these 40,000 parking locations, please take a few minutes to rate your experience based on the following categories:

  • Safety
  • Cleanliness
  • Lighting
  • Ease of Accessibility
  • Lot Fullness

Coming soon, your ratings will be used to create average driver ratings for each location, so that you will be able to view how your fellow drivers have rated a suggested parking location before you select it. Your ratings on these locations will help us provide you with the best future suggestions, fueled by your collective feedback.

If you have any questions about locating or rating parking in your DriverTech navigation, reach out to your manager. COVID-19 Update: Staying Safe on the Road

by Miranda Brooks 2. September 2021 14:06

As the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to spread across the nation, we want to make sure you’re staying safe and healthy on the road.  As of Friday, August 27th, the CDC reported 142,006 new positive cases, 12,297 new hospitalizations, and 864 deaths all of which occurred in the previous seven days.

In August, 122 U.S. Xpress team members tested positive, some requiring hospitalization. We have even lost a few of our colleagues to this virus. We mourn their loss and wish the best to those who have tested positive, particularly those hospitalized.

Your safety is our priority, but it is everyone’s responsibility to do their part. We ask that you follow all CDC guidelines, including practicing social distancing when possible, taking breaks in your cab instead of driver lounges or other common areas. Additionally, you are required to follow any guidelines set in place at any customer location.

Per recommendations from the broad healthcare community and other experts (including the CDC, Mayo Clinic, and many more), we remain convicted that the safest and fastest way to protect each other is to get vaccinated. If you are not yet vaccinated, please consider getting the shot(s) as soon as possible for your safety and the safety of those around you.

Stay tuned for more information as we continue assessing the best plan of action to keep everyone safe and healthy.

How to access e-logs

by Miranda Brooks 24. July 2021 09:21

As you know, during an inspection, you’re responsible for showing your HOS logs and knowing the functions related to a roadside inspection from within your DriverTech unit. But do you know how to access the information on your mobile device? It’s easy.

  • Step 1: Enable airplane mode on your mobile device.
  • Step 2: Open WiFi settings on your mobile device.
  • Step 3: Connect to your personal DriverTech network. It will be “DT” followed by your personal device number.
  • Step 4: Enter the password “drivertech”.
  • Step 5: Select sign-in prompt or navigate to ra.drivertech.com on your web browser. It may take a few moments for your device to connect.

Now you’re directly connected to DriverTech, and your mobile device is acting as your ELD display screen. Go ahead and hand it to the DOT officer so they can complete your inspection. Then just like that – you’re back on the road!
