COVID Vaccine: Taking Care of Everyone

As vaccines are continuing to roll out, we're encouraging everyone to consider getting the shot. But, we know many folks still have questions and concerns.

We recently welcomed Dr. Andrea Willis, Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, to answer common vaccine questions and hopefully ease some of the anxiety around the vaccine. If you are still having second thoughts about receiving the shot, take a look at some of these highlights from the virtual Town Hall.

If you’re eligible in your state and have not already received the vaccine, signing up is easy. To find a convenient location administering the shot just visit www.vaccinefinder.org. Once you choose a location, you can schedule an appointment during your next home time or PTO.

In the meantime, be sure to continue following all CDC recommendations to help keep yourself as well as your friends, families, teammates, and neighbors safe. 

Remember, if you feel ill or have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please get tested as soon as possible and watch carefully for a fever (100.4◦F), cough, loss of smell, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.

To get tested for the virus, visit a nearby state or county health department’s website for testing updates and restrictions. Keep in mind, some areas require you to be a state or county resident to be tested. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) offers a great resource to find that information.

You are still required to wear a face covering at any U.S. Xpress facility, including all offices, shops, terminals, and Dedicated locations. We also urge you to take breaks in your cab (when possible) instead of using driver lounges or other shared spaces.

It’s been a long road, but we’re happy to say, with the increased availability of vaccines, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up the good work. Hopefully we can gather again soon.

Need to Weigh a Load? Locate a Scale from your DriverTech.

Easily locate a scale on your route right from your DriverTech navigation. Simply press the blue road sign button on your DriverTech navigation screen, select “Scale”, and your DriverTech unit will then begin searching for options based on your current route. When the search is complete, up to four optimal scale options will display on your screen, and you can select the one that best suits your needs.

Spring Professional Driver Development Training Now Available

Our Professional Driver Development program is designed to help you throughout your career, whether you’re new or experienced. Part of this involves training assignments that help you stay up to date about important aspects of your job.

Your spring training, now available on the Professional Driver Development site, focuses on:

  • Heat Training eLearning
  • Heat and Collision Mitigation
  • Situational Driving
  • Transferring Logs to Your Mobile Device
  • The Blue Beacon Truck Wash Program
  • Tire Pass for Professional Drivers
  • Spotted Lanternfly Training and Permit 

You must complete all assignments by May 30th, 2021. You can do them all at once or one at a time, whichever is most convenient for you.

Access them online by logging into the Professional Driver Development site one of the following ways:

  • From the welcome page at www.USXpressway.com, click the “Professional Driver Development Site” button.
  • From within www.USXpressway.com, click the “Learning System” link found under MY TOOLS.
  • Or, from www.usxpress.com, click the “PROFESSIONAL DRIVER DEVELOPMENT” link at the bottom of the main page.

You can sign in with your Xpress Mobile/U.S. Xpressway username and password. If you have not signed up for Xpress Mobile or U.S. Xpressway yet, you can create a login by visiting www.USXpressway.com.
